Practice Nurse Appointments

Where you want an appointment with the practice nurse you should advise the receptionist of the reason (eg, blood pressure check, diabetic review, etc) so that she can allocate the appropriate time for your appointment. For example, a blood pressure check usually needs a 15 minute appointment; however, a full diabetic review normally needs 30 minutes.

Urgent / On The Day appointments

This type of appointment will be with ANY available GP – and not necessarily the GP of your choice – If you require a specific GP you will need to book a routine appointment which will mean that you will need to wait until the next available routine appointment for that specific GP.

If your need is urgent we will offer you an appointment on the same day (subject to availability). This will often be for conditions that, for example:

  • are severe
  • are persisting or getting worse despite [several days] medication from the pharmacist
  • have not previously cleared up within a few days
  • Children under the age of five
  • Women with problems in pregnancy
  • Terminally ill patients

If all the appointments have been used and you feel that you cannot wait and want to be assessed urgently (ie, the same day), the staff will take your details, and pass to the doctor, the doctor will assess your problem and decide the best course of action, and then either the doctor or receptionist will call you with the necessary action/instruction.

Telephone Consultations

Telephone Consultations are also available at this practice, please contact reception through our online form.
